The essence of the Kennedy School has always been an abiding commitment to advancing the public interest with the influence of powerful ideas and the training of talented leaders.

The John F. Kennedy School of Government features over a dozen teaching degree and executive programs, in addition to its ten research centers and institutes where faculty, fellows and students concentrate around particular policy issues-from international affairs to state and local government, as well as to many research projects and programs and to the work of individual faculty and students. The school offers Master in Public Administration (MPA) programs, a Master in Public Policy (MPP) programs, and Doctoral programs in Public Policy, Health Policy and Social Policy. In addition, the Institute of Politics (IOP) was established to serve as a bridge between the academic study of government and the real world of politics.
