The Corona-Norco Unified School District (CNUSD)

The Corona-Norco Unified School District (CNUSD) is located 45 miles southeast of Los Angeles, California, in the western section of Riverside County. The area served by CNUSD continues to experience rapid growth, and has developed from an agriculturally oriented center to a residential commuter-base. Founded in 1893 as the Yorba School District, CNUSD provides education for the approximately 40,000 students of Corona, Norco, and unincorporated areas of Riverside County including El Cerrito, Home Gardens, Coronita, Mira Loma and Lake Mathews. Encompassing 154 Square Miles, CNUSD has 22 elementary schools, 5 intermediate schools, 4 comprehensive high schools and 3 alternative schools.

The District continues to grow faster than any other in Southern California. By the year 2005, CNUSD projects that they will hire 500 additional teachers to serve over 10,000 new students and build 9 new schools.

CNUSD recruits teachers nationwide and offers very competitive salaries. "We seek the best teachers. We seek teachers who love children, who work hard, who want to grow, who want to create effective schools and who constantly validate, honor, respect and applaud children for their efforts."

The District is committed to meeting the needs of the "whole child" to not only produce good students but to assist in creating good citizens, lifelong learners, critical thinkers and graduates who are successful in life.
