Here is one company's experience:
Objective Systems Integrators, based in Folsom, California, needed to fill a position in its Mexico City office. The technical support position called for a bilingual professional with a computer science/engineering background or degree in addition to some computer software design experience.
For Mike Ziebell, OSI's human resources manager, the search was not as hard as he anticipated. "The Saludos Hispanos web site was recommended to me by our ad agency, Bernard Hodes. So I decided to post our opening on the job board. We got 40 responses and selected a pool of applicants to interview," Ziebell says.
"We hired Esteban Rodriguez who was living in Monterey, Mexico and was looking for a job in Mexico City. Rodriguez fit the job perfectly. In addition to being bilingual, he has a degree in computer science and three years of experience."
Ziebell concludes, "I was happy with the candidate flow we were seeing from the job posting on the web site. We hope to continue getting candidates from this web site."
