GROUP SUPERVISOR NIGHTS
Educational Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)


Monthly Salary:  $2,655.64 - $3,289.09

Group Supervisor Nights makes initial security checks and periodic rounds of the living units beginning at 10 p.m. and continuing throughout the shift to visually observe each minor assigned to the unit; maintains order, safety and security in the unit and communicates with staff members being relieved to determine the general condition of the unit and any unusual circumstances; takes appropriate action by alerting staff anytime a minor appears to be injured, attempting self-injury, or attempting escape; ensures that injured or ill minors obtain timely medical attention; and may transport minors to medical facilities, courts or other locations.

DETENTION SERVICES OFFICER
Educational Requirement:
60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university

Monthly Salary:  $3,547.09 - $4,167.45

Detention Services Officer supervises the activities of minors detained in one of the three juvenile halls located in Downey, Los Angeles and Sylmar. Incumbents serve as a member of a small team responsible for the order and security of a unit of juveniles and provide situational counseling as necessary. Appointees must be willing to work any shift (6 a.m.-2 p.m. or 2 p.m.-10 p.m.),
including weekends and holidays.


DEPUTY PROBATION OFFICER I
Educational Requirement:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or University

Monthly Salary:   $3,469.73 - $4,302.55

DEPUTY PROBATION OFFICER II

Monthly Salary:  $4,096.18 - $5,671.18

Deputy Probation Officer II evaluates and maintains records on the progress of assigned cases; conducts recreational activities; provides individual and group crisis intervention; ensures juvenile's health needs are met and hygiene and personal appearance are adequate; work 56-hour shift (2 1/2 consecutive days).


FIELD

Deputy Probation Officer II Field investigates and evaluates adult or juvenile cases; prepare reports and recommendations for use by the courts in making disposition of adult and juvenile cases; counsels the minimum risk of adult or juvenile probationer to ensure compliance with court orders; implement planned supervision programs for probationers which will assist them in complying with the conditions of probation; and provides surveillance of adults or juveniles in specialized programs.

TREATMENT & COUNSELING
Educational Requirement:
A Master's Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage, Family & Child Counseling from an accredited
college or university.

Monthly Salary:  $4,096.18-$5,671.18


Deputy Probation Officer II/Treatment and Counseling are employed at the Probation Department's residential treatment facilities throughout the County of Los Angeles. They provide counseling and treatment to psychologically disturbed juveniles and their families; and acting as team leaders, plan and implement treatment programs utilizing accepted casework skills and techniques; prepare reports and recommendations for use by the Probation Department and the court; and appear in court as needed to provide information regarding recommendations, and may supervise camp wards.

√   Certification in Cardiopulmonary
     Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid prior to ppointment
