Naval Sea Systems Command,
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) has been committed to advancing naval warfare technology since 1918. Today, 85 years later, NSWCDD is still leading scientific and engineering efforts that help the Navy protect our nation.
We conduct basic research in all systems-related areas and pursue scientific thrusts that draw upon many disciplines, including biotechnology, chemistry, mathematics, laser and computer technology, chemical, mechanical, electrical and systems engineering, physics and computer science. Distinguished figures in history who have worked for us include physicists Albert Einstein and computer pioneers Howard Aiken and Grace Hopper.
