Nike

There are seven days in a week. Why should you only get to enjoy two of them?

Every day, we focus on new ways to improve performance. Athletic performance. Product performance. Most importantly, our own performance. To that end, we demand excellence of ourselves every day – because that is what athletes demand of our products. We feel lucky to have a genuine, altruistic reason to be: the service of human potential. That's the great benefit of sports, and we're glad to be in the middle of it.

We do a lot more than make shoes. Our design team is a bellwether for global fashion and commerce. Our IT department is the envy of the industry. Our Finance and Legal departments do groundbreaking work. Whatever your expertise, if you have a desire to perform at the very highest level, there is opportunity for you at Nike.

In the words of our founder Bill Bowerman:

"If you have a body, you are an athlete.”

And as long as there are athletes, there will be Nike.

Our World Headquarters is in Beaverton, Oregon. The Pacific Northwest is Nike's hometown, but like so many ambitious companies, we have expanded our horizons to every corner of the world. Nike employs more than 22,000 people, and every one of them is significant to our mission of bringing inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world. In the U.S. we have over 100 retail locations across the country, as well as manufacturing operations in Missouri and Oregon and distribution centers in Tennessee, California and Oregon.

Nike operates on six continents. Our suppliers, shippers, retailers and service providers employ close to 1 million people. The diversity inherent in such size is helping Nike evolve its role as a global company. We retain the zeal of youth yet act on our responsibilities as a global corporate citizen.

What We're Like

This is a company that began in the trunk of a car. We fear nothing, particularly differences. Our commitment to diversity is an integral part of Nike’s identity as a company, and as a member of the world community.

Our goal has always been to provide a competitive edge, to help athletes perform better. We climb inside the athletic mind. We test. We tweak. We play. We make everything we touch a little more effective than it was before.

Ever since the day in 1971 when a University of Oregon track coach named Bill Bowerman poured rubber into his wife's waffle iron, technological innovation has been the spark that lights Nike's fire.

As human potential evolves, so must our products. For three decades, we have been committed to giving athletes of every make, model and body style, who compete and recreate in ways never before imagined, the very best performance product. Products of the pure imagination. Products that move the needle of performance. Products that help us be the athletes we know we can be.
