Ermis Amparo is a senior human resources assistant at St. Vincent's where he works in the employee relations department. He's been with the hospital for four years and is completing his degree in business from Worcester State College. He's also attending Assumption College in Worcester working toward a certificate in human resource management.

Amparo finds his bilingual skills a huge asset. "Not only for fellow employees, but also being able to help our department and hospital. What I love most about my job is interacting with people," he says. The 25-year-old Amparo grew up in New York, is married and is a dad to two step-daughters. But even at 25, Amparo offers sound advice to college students: "Finish your education and don't waste time. It's very costly." And he practices what he preaches. He also volunteers at the local YMCA, helping kids achieve their career goals. In 1999, he was recognized by the YMCA with the Minority Achievement in Business and Industry award.

A 107-Year History of Service

St. Vincent Hospital was founded in 1893 by the Sisters of Providence as a small community hospital. Today St. Vincent Hospital is one of the largest hospital systems in New England. It is fully accredited with commendation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals of the Association of American Medical Colleges. In April, St. Vincent Hospital opened a $250 million medical complex that encompasses a 299-bed hospital with over 250,000 square feet of physicians' offices.

NURSE MANAGER-Center for Women & Infants - Seeking a strong team leader to coordinate and manage the Center for Women & Infants. You will be the critical link for communications, quality care, fiscal responsibility, human and capital resource management and interdepartmental coordination. MSN or MBA required.

ASSISTANT MANAGER-Retail Pharmacy - Exciting opportunity for an energetic, motivated Assistant Manager for our brand new state-of-the-art pharmacy. You will be involved in the planning and development of operations for the new pharmacy.

SECRETARIES/BILLING CLERKS - Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literacy and medical terminology required. Billing experience helpful. Bilingual/multilingual abilities preferred.

OPERATING ROOM POSITIONS - We are currently seeking special candidates for various OR nursing and tech positions. There are 3 STAFF NURSE positions in the main OR on various shifts. Each of these RN positions requires OR experience; CNOR certification is preferred. We also have 3 positions for qualified SURGICAL TECHNICIANS who have current certification and experience.

SECURITY OFFICERS - Basic knowledge of criminal law. Requires valid Mass. dirver's license. Part-time positions available.
