Southern California Medical Center is looking for a Spanish and English speaking Front Office Medical Assistant to join a team of professionals in our Long Beach clinic.

Bilingual: English and Spanish is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Involved in the clinic workflow including but not limited to front office, call center, and back office (if applicable for MA).
  • Use of EHR for scheduling, registration and documenting patient data.
  • Primary facilitator of patient feedback and complaints.
  • Investigate and communicate patient feedback with the Clinic Manager.
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with all medical staff regarding patient inquiries.
  • Assist the Clinic Manager with implementing process improvements (review office workflow from patient point of view).
  • Reach out to patients who are no shows to their scheduled appointments.
  • Assist with PPE inventory and orders.
  • Notify patients of normal and abnormal laboratory findings as instructed by the clinical director.
  • Review patient’s charts and present finding to the physician.
  • Perform other clinical duties including but not limited to patient triage, data collection and recording, administration of vaccines and medications, medical record upkeep, patient education, CLIA waived lab testing, labeling and transporting laboratory specimens (if applicable).
  • Promote clinic, assist with outreach, marketing and community engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma required; Associate degree or Medical Assistant Training certificate preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in healthcare setting; preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Professional manner and detailed oriented.
  • Able to handle pressure and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills and telephone manner.
  • Able to multi-task and at times be willing to travel to different sites.
  • Computer skills and knowledge, including word processing, medical database operations and spreadsheets.
  • Bilingual; English, and Spanish required.
