Aggressive moves to increase faculty diversity at RIT are raising the bar for schools nationwide. In fact, in New York , they are starting to call it the “RIT model.” For the past three hiring seasons, 30 percent of RIT's new faculty hires have been from underrepresented minority groups. Dr. Albert Simone , RIT's president, says, “It requires committed and dedicated leadership operating in a reasoned way, but willing to take strong measures…committed leadership up and down the organization.”
